Daniel J. Edelman, Inc. d/b/a Edelman Studios ("Edelman") respects the privacy of our site visitors. On this page, we address what information we collect from you on the public area of our website and how we use that information. By accessing or using the Edelman Studios site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accept this privacy policy and its terms. Information we collect

Edelman collects two basic types of information:

Personally identifiable information: This is information that personally identifies one individual from another (for example, names, e-mail addresses and other contact information). This information is voluntarily provided to us by our site visitors and is used by us for the purpose of responding to user submissions and fulfilling requests for further information about our services.

Information you voluntarily provide to Edelman

Edelman only collects personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide, when you sign up as an Edelman Studio user or submit a treatment or other material in response to an assignment presented on the site ("Submitted Materials") Examples of such personally identifiable information that you provide to us may include, among other information, your name, physical address, email address, educational and professional background.

Edelman only requires personally identifiable information from you when you set up your user profile, provide Submitted Materials or otherwise voluntarily submit materials or information to us.

Other information Edelman collects

When you visit the Edelman website, we may automatically collect some information about your visit using cookies, log analysis software and other aggregate tracking technologies.

If you wish, you may set your browser to refuse cookies. However, by refusing to accept a cookie, you may not be able to access some pages or use some of the functions of our site. Some Edelman cookie files remain on your computer's hard drive unless and until you manually delete the file. Edelman cookie files do not contain personally identifiable information or track an individual users' movement through our site.

How Edelman uses the information we collect

Edelman will not sell or distribute personally identifiable information collected from you without your consent, for example, when you become a member or provide the Submitted Materials. Personally identifiable information

Edelman may use your information, including personally identifiable information, for business purposes including, without limitation, for the following business purposes:

To contact you regarding your Submitted Materials.
To improve the quality of your Edelman site visit.
To send registration confirmations.
To add your information to our directory when you consent.
To send your information to our clients who are evaluating material submitted by you, who are required by agreement not to make further use of your information.
To verify information provided by you.
To send informational or promotional materials which we believe would be of interest to you.
To send surveys to you.
To update your member profile with any information we receive from you or from third-party sources about you.
We sometimes contract with other companies and individuals to perform functions or services on our behalf, such as hosting the Edelman site, sending email messages and information and administering surveys. What you will receive from Edelman

How Edelman protects your information

When we do so, changes in our privacy policy will be posted on our site and will be effective immediately. No underaged users

The site is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. Edelman does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under the age of 18 at our site. In the event a child under the age of 18 submits a question to us at our site and identifies his or her age, we may use the child's email address for the sole purpose of responding to the child's question on a one-time-only basis. However, we will not use the child's email address for further contact and we will remove the address from our records after we have initially responded.

This site is hosted from the United States. Users located outside of the United States consent to the transfer of their data to the United States for processing and use in accordance with this privacy policy.

Accessing and updating your information; Opting out

We may take a reasonable period of time to respond to any request to update or modify any information, or to opt out of or unsubscribe from any communications. If you request the deletion or modification of your personal information maintained by us, such information may be retained for a period of time in our backup systems as a precaution against system failures. Some information may be retained for longer periods as required by law, contract or auditing requirements.
